Propulsion Test Engineering Manager

Compensation: $145,000 - $175,000 / year
Description As the
Propulsion Test Engineering Manager at Impulse Space, you will be responsible for daily test operations as well as the build-up and commissioning of new test equipment while working closely with a fast paced, agile team.
Responsibilities
- Provide personnel and project management of propulsion system testing
- Personally contribute to the design and build-up of fluid, mechanical, electrical and power systems in support of multiple test stands and test articles
- Manage the design and execution of new test equipment buildup while maintaining cost and schedule constraints
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to meet project goals
- Conduct propulsion, structural, and avionics test operations while optimizing operational efficiency
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of direct experience in hardware test operations
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience in designing or operating cryogenic liquid rocket engine test or launch facilities
- Demonstrated ability of taking on large-scale project ownership including all engineering, facility, and regulatory aspects
- Demonstrated ownership of propulsion and structural test stand design, build-up and operation
- Able to identify and procure appropriate test equipment
- Experience with data acquisition and automation control methods
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering with emphasis on laboratory and/or practical applications
- Experience in both production and development testing environments while driving improvement in associated processes and procedures
- Experience in both in-space and upper stage propulsion systems with knowledge of ground operations associated with both
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the
