Responsibilities:
- As a property accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for our real estate properties.
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, specific to our property portfolio.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for each property, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Reconcile property bank accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for property-related expenses and revenue.
- Collaborate with property managers and stakeholders to analyze and review property financial performance.
- Conduct periodic audits of property leases, ensuring accurate rent calculations and timely collections.
- Provide support during property acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence and financial analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a property accountant or in a similar accounting role within the real estate industry.
- Solid understanding of property accounting principles, lease administration, and property management software.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with property managers and stakeholders.
