Our client, a well-established, yet growing, Property Management company, is seeking a Property Accountant to play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and reporting for a portfolio of properties. Working closely with property managers and other stakeholders, you will ensure accurate and timely financial data, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support the overall financial health of the organization.
Property Accountant Responsibilities:
- Handle comprehensive accounting tasks for a diverse portfolio of properties.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Complete balance sheet workpapers accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the General Ledger.
- Calculate future cash flows to support financial planning.
- Manage cash disbursements effectively.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Calculate management fees accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure prompt payment of taxes and insurance.
- Assist auditors by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Collaborate in the annual budget preparation process.
Property Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
