Function PROJECT PLANNER Job Family PMO FLSA Designation Exempt Last Updated 9-13-22 Position Summary The Project Planner works with the project teams creating project schedules in utilizing Microsoft Project and PWA. This role is responsible facilitating discussions within the project teams to develop and agree on cross functional project schedules. The Project Planned is also responsible for developing revisions to the schedule as needed throughout the life of the projects. The incumbent will assist in the development of and answer questions during the development of the regular PMO reports. Position Responsibilities may include: Develop and manage project schedules related to new and existing product designs Participate on cross functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product schedules Participate on project planning sessions and develop aggressive yet realistic project deadlines Assist Manufacturing with product launches and issue resolution Proactive project management, always looking for obstacles of on time delivery ahead of time and avoid them if possible Proactive communication with all departments impacted by the projects you are assigned Assist the other program manager team members as needed Coordinate project work internally with the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget Perform other job duties as required by Supervisor Maintain working relationship with manufacturing, sales planning and other disciplines to optimize efficiency and ensure smooth product flow to the customer Communicate across all business disciplines both verbally and written Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs Nature and Scope: Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions Knowledge and Skills: Experience in project management stage gate process High level of experience in MS Suite including MS Project Strong working knowledge with MS Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PM Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills Effective organizational, time management and project management skills Demonstrated detail orientation and drive for task completion Ability to develop and manage relationships Ability to influence and collaborate with teams and individuals, excellent interpersonal skills Ability to apply good judgement, decision making skills, strong work ethics and integrity on the job Experience: 5+ years Prior project management experience Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or other related field from an accredited university Project Management Institute (PMI) understanding, and awareness required Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or equivalent experience preferred People Management No Physical Requirements / Working Environment Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
