Duties and Responsibilities Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on the nature of their assignments, individual employees may perform some or all of the duties described below. Manages day-to-day planning, coordinating, and scheduling to ensure the library's public website and intranet are up-to-date, mobile-friendly, accessible, and standards-compliant for the public and staff. Leads Library Web Services team. Facilitates creation and maintenance of web pages and other web-based services or applications to support organizational goals. Provides technical expertise for library-related web and mobile applications. Serves as a Library liaison for county-wide IT initiatives such as server infrastructure updates, change management, etc. Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies. Monitors and analyzes web analytics for trends and recommends opportunities to increase user engagement and adapt technology to improve library operations. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues in light of organizational and County policies, practices, and procedures. Collaborates in the development of short- and long-term plans. Recommends and implements changes to policies and internal procedures as they relate to library technology. Conducts system-wide project implementation of web technology solutions, including communicating with and providing training for library staff. Determines priorities for project implementation, develops specifications, secures necessary resources, and executes successful implementation, operation, and maintenance. Identifies, tracks, monitors, and communicates project-related tasks, issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies that may arise during the project implementation. Works collaboratively with library public service and supports leadership and staff when introducing new projects or initiatives or proposing significant changes to existing initiatives, programs, policies, workflows, or organizational structures. Oversees relational database and web application for library data reporting. Other duties as required. Job Specifications Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management. Knowledge of the processes, activities, requirements and objectives of the functional area to which assigned. Skill in developing tracking systems to monitor work progress. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems involving several variables or unique situations. Ability to manage the details of projects, track activities and meet deadlines. Ability to collect, organize and analyze data and make logical decisions. Physical Requirements This job is performed in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. Work Category Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Minimum Qualifications Required Graduation from an accredited four year degree granting college or university; AND Three years of program/project management experience directly related to the position duties; OR An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above. Emergency Management Responsibilities In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee's department, the County's Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.
