Job Description Our client, an American multinational energy corporation predominantly specializing in oil and gas, is looking for a Project Manager to support the successful deployment of SAP S/4 HANA and accompanying business process and data changes. This contract duration is estimated to be 18 to 24 months. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing projects in a hybrid waterfall/agile environment, collaborating with key stakeholders in Bakersfield CA and Houston TX. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing business processes, as well as data analytics and reporting. Experience with SAP S/4HANA deployments is a plus. Responsibilities: Project Planning: Collaborate with key stakeholders in Houston to receive the overall deployment plan, including shared milestones and activities. Coordinate stakeholders in Houston and Bakersfield to tailor the deployment activities and tasks specifically for this business unit. 2. Resource Management: Monitor resource allocations to ensure efficient resource utilization. Partner with Leaders to maintain a detailed resource plan and PowerBI report. 3. Business Readiness: Play a supporting role in testing, validation, and user acceptance to ensure the solution meets business requirements. Support local Leads with the Future State of our business using S4/Hana, including development of workflows, time studies, and organizational requirements. 4. Team Leadership: Be an influential leader in support of our cross-functional project deployment team, assigning responsibilities and setting clear expectations. Foster a collaborative environment, promoting effective communication, and ensuring the team's alignment with project goals. 5. SAP S/4HANA Implementation: Leverage your knowledge of SAP S/4HANA to guide the implementation process and provide expert insights. Coordinate with technical and functional teams to ensure that the solution design meets business requirements and best practices. 6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or outcomes. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges. 7. Stakeholder Management: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, consultants, and vendors. Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations. 8. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, primarily the Deployment Plan and Issues & Risks for SJVBU. Provide timely project updates to leadership and stakeholders, highlighting milestones, achievements, and potential issues. Qualifications Required Experience: 12+ years' experience as a project manager in a fast-paced environment (e.g. oilfield, manufacturing) Experience in waterfall and agile project environments. Preferred experience in a hybrid environment, whereby the team works agile inside waterfall constraints. Proficient in Excel and PowerBI, specifically data analytics, queries, visualizations and reports. Proficient as a SharePoint Administrator (not Developer). The Deployment Plan is managed in SharePoint, linked to a Microsoft Project file. Preferred Experience: Preferred knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and its modules, functionalities, and integration points. Preferred experience as a Project Manager overseeing SAP S/4HANA deployments. Preferred experience in the oilfield or manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field. Problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Influential leadership skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, including stakeholder management and executive reporting Location & Schedule: Choose between a 4/10 schedule or a 9/80 schedule Hybrid schedule - Monday & Friday are remote; Tuesday - Thursday is in the Bakersfield, CA office. The schedule is subject to change during cutover, testing, Go-Live and/or hyper care if a presence on-site improves outcomes. Occasional travel will be required, estimated at 20%.
