The Project Manager II is responsible for planning, executing, and reviewing projects throughout the project lifecycle. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for design, retail and understanding of manufacturing processes. Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing, collaborative environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Project Definition and Planning
  • Defines and documents client goals and requirements in terms of scope, schedule, and budget for the project
  • Collaborates with Production, Design, Engineering, and other internal departments to prepare a project plan that includes an accurate estimate of required resources from each department
  • Determines schedule, budget, procedures, and potential risks for project completion
  • Negotiates with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure highest value in quality and cost
  • Prepares project estimate and partners with Account manager in communicating estimate to client

Project Implementation and Management
  • Leads project kick-off; achieves buy-in from all stakeholders and maintains proactive communication with all departments throughout the project
  • Takes ownership and ensures accuracy of project schedule, BOM, cashflow, production, invoicing and all other project documentation (scope updates, change orders, timelines, etc.)
  • Resolves all engineering and production issues, involving Account Manager and client as needed
  • Follows company processes and works toward improvements through the development of efficient business processes
  • Continuously seeks cost savings opportunities to exceed gross margin targets
  • Proactively communicates and manages client expectations in terms of deliverables and scope
  • Utilizes appropriate project management and ERP tools and resources to analyze, communicate, report, and document status updates
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and changes in relevant technology, equipment, and materials. Makes recommendations in relation to these changes
  • Supervises team of project coordinators in execution of project task
  • Contributes to the team environment by coordinating with peers, resolving conflicting priorities and doing what is best for Chandler and our clients

Project Completion
  • Completes each project on time and to Chandler standards. Is willing to do what it takes to maintain Chandler reputation and exceed client expectations
  • Reviews and ensures accuracy and completion of all project documentation prior to closing and invoicing
  • Confirms delivery of final product. ?Follows-up with client to ensure client satisfaction
  • Leads Project Wrap process to review the project results against the project plan and identifies areas of improvement. Documents and communicates lessons learned to other team members

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 4 year degree in project management, business administration or relevant field preferred

• Experience in manufacturing, design, or related field highly preferred

• Customer facing and ability to formulate relationships and a collaborative partnership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITES

• Proficient with Microsoft Office

• Experience working with an ERP system preferred

• Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to document and communicate key issues

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple, and sometimes conflicting, priorities

• Ability to work with others in a rapidly changing environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Independent and self-motivated
