About this Position:


The Large Project Leader (LPL) has full project responsibility for planning, organizing, leading and executing ATV/SxS New Model Development projects with a cross functional SEDB team. The LPL sets the project direction and strategies to achieve project results while balancing quality, cost and delivery (QCD) targets. This role requires independent judgment, consensus building, problem solving and decision making to ensure project deliverables are met.


Responsibilities include:

• Assume full project responsibility for assigned development projects of various size, complexity and cost, define the project scope/goals/deliverables and negotiate with management on an ongoing basis to secure project resources, identify budget needs/constraints, anticipate project risks and implement countermeasure strategies to ensure alignment with business plan objectives.

• Collaborate with SEDB team to set a development execution plan hat achieves quality, cost and delivery. Breakdown clear targets, work packages and schedules for the project team to achieve the project milestones thru the project lifecycle from concept to production launch. Manage project resources and overall schedule including coordinating tasks to meet deadlines, leading project meetings/discussions, preparing proposals/presentations for project evaluations, communicate all development direction and project results to management/functional groups/team.

• Collaborate across the organization, building/maintaining business relationships vital to the success of the project, addressing broad issues related to resource/technical/project management, communicating pertinent project information and effectively mitigating project conflict/communication issues/concerns.

• Collaborate across the organization to maintain business targets, analyze project profit margins, identify key economic drivers that may affect future business health, identify budget reduction opportunities/challenges and implement countermeasures/budget changes to control development costs and increase project profitability.

• Lead development planning initiatives, including coordinating development contents with the Product Planning, Sales and Manufacturing to achieve product & business targets

• Maintain accurate project and administrative documentation and records as required by department, division and Company guidelines.


Who we are seeking:


Required Experience:

• 12+ years related work experience, preferably in Power Sports or Automotive field


Required Education:

• Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent in related field


Other job specific skills:

• Strong project management & process improvement skills

• Strong negotiation, diplomacy and conflict resolution skills

• Sound knowledge of Powersports Products development process

• Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and decision making skills

• Ability to positively influence & motivate team members

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and Power Point)

• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills

• Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management

Additional Position Factors:

• Travel: Up to 20% may be required. Amount varies based on demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.

• Physical: Primarily at a desk, some work in a lab and/or test vehicle, frequent keyboarding.

• Hazards: Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. Exposure to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.

• Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.

• Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety department, and company policies, Procedures, and rules.
