We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Project Engineering Superintendent with our Corporate Engineering department located in Pasadena, Texas.

Responsibilities

- Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority. - Prepare and administer programs, methods, systems, and practices for reducing costs and improving employee and plant efficiency, safety, productivity, and reliability. - Manage and provide leadership for the plant project engineering department in all areas., - Serve as an expert in project engineering and ensure projects from all team members are fully developed prior to seeking funding approval. Oversee the project development and implementation effort which includes coordinating design functions, specifying, requisitioning and expediting project elements, approving purchase requisitions, reviewing vendor information and maintaining project documentation. - Assure that capital, operating and engineering costs are optimized, that all work is completed as scheduled and meets all environmental, health, safety, legal and code requirements. Maintain overall responsibility for prioritizing, development and execution of annual capital budget and allocation of funding. Eensure capital spending is within /- 2% of allotted budget. - Recommend and implement actions to improve the quality of the engineering function, working on new engineering methods and giving technical seminars and training programs. - Maintain and develop technical knowledge and skills of all team members. Qualifications Qualifications

- B.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 5-7 years of project engineering experience. - Must be able to develop strong relationships with project sponsors, outside engineering, construction and equipment supply firms. - Must be capable of handling multiple assignments and technical staff with projects ranging in size from $25K to $3 MM and a total budget of up to $25 MM. - High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and strong working knowledge of SAP. - Excellent written and verbal communications skills. - Ability to read, write and speak in English. - Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team. - Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

Physical requirements

- Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. - Walking, bending, stooping is required. - Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. - Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Additional Desired Qualifications

- Professional license preferred.
