Job DescriptionAs the Project Engineer, you will work with various engineering groups, sales, manufacturing, and project management to help ensure the goals of the project are met from pre-sale all the way through delivery. You will work on projects varying from short-term support to longer-term rig, multi-million dollar rig packages.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Generate project plans which define tasks and schedules consistent with the company's overall objectives, and ensure those plans are communicated across everyone involved with the project execution
- Track project progress and report milestones and issues to management
- Interface with multiple NOV engineering group disciplines as required by the project
- Interface with the customer occasionally as a representative of NOV engineering
- Prepare product specifications to identify design input and output requirements
- Supervise or perform work listed under the responsibilities of an Engineer or Senior Engineer
- Identify the characteristics of the design that are crucial to the safe and proper functioning of the product including compliance with industry and company guidelines
- Evaluate designs for suitability of manufacture including sensitivity to material and fabrication costs
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS: - BS degree (or higher) in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; A degree in other engineering disciplines could be considered with relevant experience
- Self-motivated and confident in dealing with internal and external customers, vendors, and third parties
- A background in project setup, execution, and reporting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and associated bills of material
- A knowledge of the drilling industry, NOV equipment, and rig design are preferred
- Basic AutoCAD skills are preferred
- Domestic and international travel may be required at times in support of NOV global operations
