We are now looking for a Project & Commissioning Engineer, Navy Navigation to help design navigation systems and join our global NAVY team. This is a hybrid position, located in New Orleans, LA. Relocation assistance can be provided for US based candidates. Sponsorship is not available at this time. Your focus will be on project engineering and later commissioning for navigation systems on NAVY vessels in close cooperation with the Navigation Program Manager. The main activities range from support for pre-sales contract to system delivery, until the end system lifetime. Some international travel for this role may be included to support customers and projects internationally. Responsibilities: Design technical solutions for navigation systems (hardware and software), in close cooperation with the project team and product management. Participate in project meetings and integration design review. Facilitate tasks and schedules for documentation, software, product deliveries, and commissioning/services. Coordinate inhouse equipment and system testing. Perform delivered system commissioning, test, and trials. Assist other project team members as required and promptly resolve quality/design issues. Keep confidentiality, especially related to Naval contracts. Responsible to follow, customer specific as well as internal, quality and security procedures. Desired Skills: Fluent in English (communicate effectively in writing and verbally) Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering specialization, e.g. electrical, computer, guidance/controls, or software. Working experience in the marine industry focusing on marine navigation/guidance systems Solid understanding of the working principles of Navigational sensors, e.g. Radar, DGNSS, Echo sounder, etc. General cyber security knowledge Knowledge of serial interface or Modbus communication protocols Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to travel internationally.
