Job Title Project Architect Location Columbus, GA Summary/Objective 2WR l ug is seeking an Project Architect for its Columbus, GA office who will be responsible for assisting the project architect and project manager from programming through construction administration. This position will work across multiple sectors of architecture including commercial, healthcare, higher education, local government, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), and manufacturing. This is a full-time, in-office position. The individual will be responsible for technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs. We are seeking someone who independently applies architectural concepts and designs; carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures; and prepares design drawings, submissions, reports, and client presentations. On some projects, this individual may provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff. The position requires balancing several projects at a time on differing schedules and at various stages of completion. Independent application of architectural skills to design concept through construction administration including investigation, evaluation, coordination and execution of solutions that best meet the client's needs. Coordinate directly with engineering and other consultants on complex project aspects. Carry out assignments at a skilled level with appropriate use of time and resources. Prepare design drawings, submissions, reports, and client presentations. On some projects, provide technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff. Balance several projects at a time on differing schedules and at various stages of completion. Comply with company design standards, procedures, and policies for all project types. Engage with active projects in the office, virtually, and on the job site. Competencies Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must communicate effectively with multiple project team members and consultants. Must be highly proficient in latest version of Revit. Must be moderately proficient with Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and all Microsoft Office core programs. Possess strong knowledge of building technology, product application, and detailing. Requires substantial experience in developing details and providing planning and design support in the preparation of design development. Collaborate with the Project Architect in the production of project documentation including but not limited to site surveys, design, drawings for all phases of a project, written specifications, submittals, etc. Stay up-to-date, understand, and apply all latest code and industry standards. Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage project scope, budget, and schedule. Exhibit strong self-initiative and drive. Coordinate and maintain the quality of workmanship throughout the duration of a project. Be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and demands of multiple projects. Education and Experience Minimum five years of experience. Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program. Licensure preferred but not required. Have on-site experience with projects in construction. Must be able to provide samples of completed design work from various phases of project development. Additional Eligibility Qualifications N/A Supervisory Responsibility Occasional supervision of specific tasks of junior staff. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, and filing cabinets. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time in-office position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Potential travel for site visits and overnights for project out of state. Less than 20% travel.
