Project Accountant

Clayton Services is searching for a Project Accountant to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of specific projects within the company's organization.

Job Type: Long-Term Temp Assignment (estimated to be 14 - 16 months)

Pay Rate: $36.00 - $40.00/hour

Project Accountant Responsibilities:

Manage project finances comprehensively, from inception to completion.

Establish and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

Monitor project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying discrepancies.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, offering insights and recommendations to project managers and senior leadership.

Coordinate with project teams to record project transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Collaborate with procurement and vendor management for project-related contracts and payments.

Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Assist in crafting project proposals, including cost estimates and financial feasibility assessments.

Provide financial guidance to project managers, facilitating informed decision-making.

Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes in project accounting.

Project Accountant Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office software.

Project Accountant Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Proven experience as a project accountant or similar role, preferably in a project-based environment.
