Responsible for all aspects of managing a staff of approximately 20 program and technical management and communications specialists in an on-site PEO environment. The job entails management of tasks assigned by PEO Soldier interfacing with subordinate commands and engaging in program management to include acquisition and budgeting support.

  • Management of contractual and technical aspects Army headquarters organization support and management of a geographically dispersed contract preferred.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate administrative activities, program control, and supervision of personnel involved in support of a Program Executive Office.
  • Display knowledge and experience in work planning, budget control, resource management methods and procedures required.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides day to day direction for a group of subordinates.
  • Provides expert functional guidance to employees.
  • Interfaces with Government management to resolve problems.
  • Establishes priorities of work to subordinates based on Government goals and objectives.
  • Interfaces between Government customer and Contractor
  • Performs other PM direct support functional roles.
  • Distribute and balance workload in accordance with established workflows and assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Give on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Lead the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provide leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining improvements.
  • Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, suspenses and time frames for completion.
  • Assigns work to personnel according to workload, ability and priority of assignment and provides instruction and assistance as necessary on problems or issues.


Experience and Expertise Required:

  • BachelorĂ¢ s degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 20 years direct, relevant experience managing cost, schedule and performance on similar US Government contracts.
  • Knowledge of PEO Soldier or related Army acquisition entities is preferred.
  • Request working as an officer or civilian for an Army headquarters or acquisition element preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint and MS Project required.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Active DoD clearance is required.
  • Strong understanding of policies and procedures involved in program support, audit preparation and staffing and coordinating Army documentation.
  • General office environment, some lifting and/or moving up to 25lbs required.
  • Travel (CONUS) up to 10% of time
