Manage all elements of the designated academic program, including program accreditation, enrollment management, program administration, instructional quality, and human resource management ensuring coordination with academic and non-academic departments. Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to campus expectations of faculty performance and engagement. Program Administration Complete annual Program Review, including analysis of trend data and resources. Complete accreditation self-studies, interim reporting, and annual reporting as required. Engage internally and externally with employers and other economic sector experts, deans, vice presidents, and as a member of the statewide curriculum committee to ensure alignment of quality, relevant, and market-driven curriculum in alignment with accreditation standards. Maintain office administrative hours in accordance with the faculty loading guidelines in ASOM 7.2 - Faculty Job Descriptions and Loading. Coordinate program advisory committees ensuring broad-based membership and participatory agendas per College policy and accreditation standards. Coordinate with campus leadership to ensure maintenance of organized and up-to-date industry-standard instructional laboratory facilities. Oversee equipment maintenance and purchases. Oversee purchases of supplies for instructional laboratories. Ensure clinical rotation assignments meet accreditation standards. Instruction Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, and following college loading policy, course objectives, and program learning outcomes. Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes. Ensure the classroom and instructional laboratory environment are conducive to student learning and in adherence to federal, state, and college safety standards and practices. Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Use Learning Management System (e.g. Canvas) to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication. Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in keeping with and furtherance of course objectives and program learning outcomes. Enrollment Management, Student Retention, and Student Success Provide academic-related coaching and academic monitoring to programmatic students in partnership with professional academic advising staff. Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources. Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with campus expectations and the faculty loading policy in the Academic Support and Operations Manual (ASOM 7.2). Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of programs, including outreach to students by phone, technology tools, and other electronic means. Review and analyze program data as related to completion, retention, and industry needs. Determine and lead action steps positively impacting retention, completion, and credentialing board success rates at the CRT and RRT levels. Support development of student clinical rotations and other real-work experiences to support the curriculum and student experiential learning. Create course schedules conducive to student learning and student access maximizing utilization of existing classroom and laboratories. Create, update, and maintain programmatic completion guides. Coordinate with Enrollment Services, student support offices (ie. IvyLife and IvyCares), and Academic Advising to facilitate student progress from admissions to program application to successful completion. Community Relations and Business Outreach Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college to advance the college's relationships within its service area as appropriate for program, school, or campus. Develop community/industry/business contacts to advance college relationships within service area as appropriate in the program or school. Professional Development Participate in professional development activities that may include scheduled training, time spent onsite in related business and industries, and self-study to advance instructional and technical skills as well as current knowledge within the field of study. Ensure completion of professional development required to maintain professional licensure. Meet all professional development requirements of program accreditor. Stay current in contemporary pedagogy, digital technology, and other technology related to teaching that best support student learning. Maintain strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to professional area of instruction. Institutional Support Provide institutional support as expected by college administration that may include curriculum development, classroom management, accreditation efforts, committee and task force assignments, attendance at commencement or other activities that are college-wide or specific to the campus, program, or school. Support and engage with CareerLink and Development (Ivy Tech Foundation). Participate in school, campus, and College meetings. Participate in alumni activities. Adhere to college and campus academic policies. Human Resource Management Coordinate recruitment, evaluation, and development of full-time and adjunct faculty with Human Resources and the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs (or designee). Review and respond to faculty, staff, and student issues. This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Minimum Qualifications A qualified program director in Respiratory Therapy meets all of the following criteria: Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution and Holds a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license, Has a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care Has a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program either as an appointed faculty member or a clinical preceptor. Preferred Qualifications Experience preparing accreditation documents including self-study and annual reports. This is a 12-month faculty position.
