Job Type: Faculty Job Description: Kansas City University is excited to announce the search for a qualified Program Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the new Master of Health Sciences in Anesthesia Program at the campus in Joplin, Missouri. This new clinical master's degree program, spanning 24-27 months, aims to produce Anesthesiologist Assistants - highly-skilled medical professionals who help plan and deliver anesthesia care within the Anesthesia Care Team. The Anesthesiologist Assistant Program Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the Anesthesiologist Assistant Program ensuring that the Program fulfills its mission, goals, and objectives. The Program Director will provide administration and direction for the academic and clinical education of the Anesthesiologist Assistant students with the goal of educating the students to provide competent and appropriate care for patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as Course Director for a minimum of three courses throughout the curriculum, and oversee the delivery of the academic and curricular curriculum Program Director will serve a key role in the design of an innovative curriculum for the new KCU Anesthesiologist Assistant Program in collaboration with the Provost's Office Assist in completing initial accreditation documents and preparing for initial accreditation site visit Develop, maintain, and scale clinical site network adequate for growth of the KCU Anesthesiologist Assistant Program Actively participate in all aspects of the program strategic plan, program growth initiatives and market expansion opportunities Maintain standards of clinical performance in accordance with Program objectives, professional standards of practice, regulatory, and accreditation agency standard Ensure that the program follows all policies, procedures, and accreditation standards as set forth by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs and KCU Support and participate in interprofessional learning opportunities across both KCU campuses Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited master's level Anesthesiologist Assistant program Current Anesthesiologist Assistant certification Current Missouri license or eligible for Missouri license Minimum 2-years clinical practice as an Anesthesiologist Assistant including experience in a teaching hospital as faculty and/or clinical preceptor Preferred Qualifications: Experience in building a start up Anesthesiologist Assistant Program Previous experience as Associate Program Director or Program Director Join us in changing healthcare for good.
