Program Assistant - Pool SALARY: $37,740 - $42,444 LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington DESCRIPTION: The Program Assistant under general supervision, performs work requiring knowledge and experience specific to the program. Provide students, staff, program participants and/or the public with information and interpretation of policies and activities related to the program specialty. Compose written communications, and establish and maintain records relating to program operations. Individual position responsibilities may vary. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Serve as primary contact with program participants; provide information regarding program policies and activities; perform a variety of public relations functions. Compose correspondence, printed materials, and/or news releases related to program policies, procedures, and operations; edit materials for accuracy, appearance, readability, and style. Compile and distribute information relative to program activities, confer with other campus departments and outside agencies; serve as resource person for campus committees concerned with program operations; interpret statistical data, historical activity reports, and other materials in the functional area. Coordinate arrangements for program activities such as meetings, conferences, and banquets. Schedule appointments and meetings. Maintain and monitor budget and inform supervisor of status. Establish and maintain records and files, record statistical information. Prepare narrative and/or statistical reports regarding program operations. Perform complex word processing tasks such as merging and sorting, integrating text with graphics, spreadsheet and database files, uploading and downloading and creating footnotes and outlines. Use spreadsheet and database software to develop and maintain records. Use basic statistical software packages and simple computer inquiry programming. Use graphics software and make recommendations regarding appropriate display of graphic information. May order, receive, and maintain inventory. May use desktop publishing software. May direct the work of others. Perform related duties as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation and two years of clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience. 2 years of customer service experience 1 year of experience interpreting and applying complex rules and regulations DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational, record keeping and documentation skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Able to thrive in a fast-paced office environment. Ability to work effectively with culturally, ethnically and economically diverse populations. Prior experience working in Higher Education. PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents. Those who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. COMPENSATION: Salary range 37. Beginning salary is $37,740 - $42,444 annually, with progressive increases to $50,088, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 2 personal leave days, and 14 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).
