Professional Engineer - Roadway Department: Transportation Employment Type: Full Time Location: Meridian, ID Description At Horrocks, we believe the best work comes from companies with values, that our people are our greatest resource, and that we have a responsibility to the communities where we live and work. As a Professional Engineer for Roadway, you will design and analyze freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails, with support from your team. Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties: Design and analysis freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects Work under the direction of a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and to coordinate and integrate the other associated design disciplines on projects Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub consultant management Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire 5 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria Proficiency using Bentley civil design software is preferred Knowledge of IDT standards and plan preparation procedures Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus Solid written and oral communication skills Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with MS Office applications A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment Benefits At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
