Production Supervisor - Die Casting

Location: Peachtree City, GA

An established company, dominating a significant portion of the U.S. market in their industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for their Die Casting department due to rapid growth. This position is located in Peachtree City, GA and offers a day shift schedule with 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, with some additional hours on Fridays. The exact hours may vary. The Die Casting department operates with various tonnage machines for zinc die casting, producing finished products. The role requires exceptional multitasking abilities as the supervisor will oversee approximately 20 employees, with a strong emphasis on leadership. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting die equipment, ensuring quality control, and correcting any defects. The supervisor will also be responsible for production planning and scheduling.

General Summary

As a Manufacturing Supervisor - Die Casting, you will oversee all operations within the department, including maintaining production quality, managing employees, enforcing safety regulations, and monitoring daily production standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and enforce safety regulations within the department.
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees within the department.
Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances in collaboration with management or subordinates.
Participate in the hiring process, including reviewing credentials, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions or recommendations.
Train, counsel, and discipline employees within the department.
Coordinate operations and activities with other supervisors and departments.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects within the department.
Complete time and attendance tasks within the department using Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Analyze records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current estimates and outputs.
Maintain organization of workspace (6s).
Conduct regular inventory controls to ensure accuracy.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
Monitor work and other indicators to ensure compliance with production or processing standards.
Departmental Specific Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the Manufacturing Supervisor may have specific duties and responsibilities as noted below:

Die Cast: (Reports to Plant Manager)
Initiate changes in casting cycle times, lubrication of dies, preheating of dies, and process parameters to ensure quality.
Supervise operation of all equipment, including Die Cast Machines, Trim Presses, Laundry System, and Melting Furnace.
Analyze, organize, and plan production to meet customer needs.
Perform data entry via production reports daily.
Ensure accurate and timely timekeeping.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, audits, and other improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve and improve production-related issues.
Document training events within the department and ensure implementation.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in HPDC (zinc, aluminum, and/or equivalent).
Three to five years' experience in troubleshooting HPDC machinery.
Three to five years' experience in quality control within a die casting environment.
Experience using MRP/ERP software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
Experience reading and interpreting documents, writing reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups.
Experience working with mathematical concepts and solving practical problems.
