TITLE: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT

B SHIFT: MONDAY THRU WEDNESDAY AND EVERY OTHER THURSDAY FROM 6:00 PM TO 6:00 AM

REPORTS TO: SR. MANAGER, PRODUCTION

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Production, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of all production-related activities on the an assigned shift, including photolithography, plating, polish, and/or vacuum manufacturing areas; overseeing the work of both regular and supplemental employees, such as assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring staffing targets are met; coordinates, tracks, and prioritizes line responsibilities to ensure that production goals are met; and ensures that safety policies and procedures are adhered to. This position is located in Milpitas, California.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the work of non-exempt employees, including providing training, evaluating performance, establishing production targets, and making employment-related decisions such as promotions, hiring, and terminations as necessary
  • Supervisors are required to be physically on-site to perform the essential functions of this position, including making oneself available to employees, peers, and managers as needed
  • Updates and revises Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI's) as necessary to ensure they are accurate and complete
  • Ensures and maintains compliance with all performance requirements, policies, practices, and work rules; identifies gaps and addresses situations promptly
  • Provides production personnel with production expectations and work performance standards and provides on-going feedback as necessary; writes and delivers annual performance evaluations for each team member
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies, including leaves of absence, time and attendance, performance, and administering disciplinary actions
  • Trains personnel and enforces strict adherence MPI's, work rules, quality requirements, and production targets
  • Plans, supervises, drives improvement, and reports production performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends
  • Oversees all production-related activities on an assigned shift, including photolithography, plating, polish, and/or vacuum manufacturing areas
  • Coordinates, tracks, and prioritizes line responsibilities to ensure that production goals are attained
  • Collaborates with engineering and maintenance groups regarding equipment and/or tool qualification and maintenance
  • Reviews and analyzes production or tool data, creates reports, and recommends corrective action if necessary
  • Responds to inquiries regarding production or manufacturing issues from other departments or groups
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in the semiconductor industry
  • One year of experience working in a supervisory or lead role
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry specifically wafer fab manufacturing and production
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
  • Able to analyze data, create various reports, and recommend corrective action
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management
  • Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
  • Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage, and evaluate employee performance

The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $96,655.20-$142,140.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The Production Supervisor a rotating schedule on B shift which is Monday thru Wednesday and every other Thursday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in both office and manufacturing production environments. Travels from building-to-building as needed. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to high-volume noise and/or hazardous materials such as chemicals or particulate matter; stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. This position requires the Production Supervisor to work on-site during their scheduled shift. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds.
