Summary

The Shift Supervisor Weekend/Weekday Rotation manages and coordinates to meet and facilitate safety, production, sustainability, and quality standards. Provides leadership and management to the departments on individual shifts to achieve company's core strategies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures safety is the primary focus for the departments. Promotes and practices safety awareness and the proper use of equipment. Runs tailgate meetings.
  • Ensures product quality is to customer specification by signing-off jobs as required and by auditing run quality as needed throughout the shift.
  • Keeps our service levels for high for On-Time Delivery by monitoring ship dates and making judgment calls, prioritizing work, and making scheduling adjustments as required.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Team Leader to ensure all jobs are ready or pre-staged before press time.
  • Monitors Hour by Hour board (Hr x Hr) for each job and challenges and/or supports operators when they fall behind target and promotes Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI).
  • Work with and utilize technical leadership as a resource to ensure problems with materials, job sequences, or machines are solved in a prompt manner.
  • Work with Team Leader(s) verbally on the payroll timesheet accuracy on a weekly basis.
  • Work closely with reroll operators and Team Leaders to ensure inspectors stay within roll-to-roll protocol and to deliver real time quality feedback to the press operators as required.
  • Performance management and assist Team Leader with reviews.
  • Work closely with Team Leader and technical trainer on the development of team members.
  • Problem solving and technical trouble shooting in conjunction with operators.
  • Alert scheduling via email and Team Leader/Production Manager of any issues that may get press off track.
  • Communicate to Team Leader on conditions of existing equipment and if new tooling, stamps, emboss or plates is needed, prior to the job running.
  • Promotes and maintains 5S standards for the department.
  • Monitors business systems for real-time job feedback and accurate data entry in SQDC.
  • $30.00 - $47.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Shift Rotates between weekday and weekends

Qualifications

  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • 2 to 4 years related leadership experience and/or training
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, methods, and practices
  • HS Diploma or GED
