Position Overview:

Southern New Hampshire business is actively seeking a qualified candidate for a key role within our client's organization. The position, reporting to the Materials Manager, involves strategic planning, procurement, and inventory management within a specialized manufacturing environment. Below are the details of the responsibilities and qualifications required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Purchasing and Planning:

    • Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical material usage to develop and execute build-to-order and build-to-forecast plans.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Utilize systems to evaluate, monitor, and report supplier performance.
  • Quality Assurance and Inventory Management:

    • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective Action Request (CAR) meetings to address quality issues.
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory counts and support inventory control processes.
  • Production Scheduling and Coordination:

    • Plan and schedule workflow for assigned operations, adhering to routing sequences and lead times.
    • Coordinate the delivery and movement of critical materials, including expediting when necessary.
  • System Utilization:

    • Utilize Infor/Syteline software to generate accurate schedules for assigned product lines.
    • Generate necessary paperwork such as pick lists and travelers.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Participate in Lean activities within the work area and cross-functional events to enhance problem-solving capabilities.
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implement pull system strategies.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience in production control planning within an ERP environment; familiarity with Infor/Syteline preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with capacity planning, lean inventory management, inventory planning, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in a high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environment is advantageous.
