Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Operators are responsible for producing various products in accordance with all work instructions, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Perform equipment setup, change over processes, and minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Produce glass products in accordance with all SOP's and customer specifications.
  • Cut, pack, and store glass per SOP's.
  • Ability to adjust equipment using measuring tools to ensure produced parts meet internal and external customer specifications.
  • Load/Unload product and/or material and supplies as required and specified.
  • Pack finished product according to customer requirements.
  • Operators are responsible for adhering to work standardization and associated training requirements.
  • Previous fork truck experience or ability to obtain a fork truck certification.
  • Required to assist in training of others.
  • Adhere to 5S and housekeeping standards and responsible for clean-up of work areas upon completion of tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to utilize a Human Machine Interface (HMI)
  • Basic knowledge and experience with hand tools
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read a ruler and work with fractions.

Education/ Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally exposed to plant environment including noise, dust, dirt and vibrations, extreme climate changes / changes in weather
  • Willing to work shift work and assist in other areas of department or site as needed.
  • The incumbent must be able to work rotating 12 hours shifts.
