Performs any unskilled duties as assigned by supervision. Assigned tasks may include but are not limited to the following: Performs cleaning, housekeeping tasks, picking up debris from floor, sweeping, mopping, etc. Services scrap containers. Handles material, scrap and finished products. Moves material to transfer or stack. Guides materials or product on conveyor. Repacks damaged cartons or product. Assists operators, attendants and material handlers. Performs some unskilled tasks for service functions, etc. Checks equipment for proper operation and notifies supervision of equipment failures, malfunctions or needed repairs. Performs duties in a safe, non-hazardous manner in compliance with safety standards. Completes production forms to report the day's production and any problems. May operate a company-owned vehicle for snow removal, company specified errands, or other activities as management directs. A valid driver's license is required for this activity. Requires regular attendance. Maintains good housekeeping practices. Position may be upgraded to a higher demanding production position based on production requirements. Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation. Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work. Performs such individual assignments as management may direct. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience/Knowledge/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations High School Diploma or Equivalent PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in a manufacturing setting. Ability to handle material, scrap and finished product. Ability to repack product and assist other operators, attendants & material handlers. Ability to check equipment for proper operation and perform unskilled maintenance tasks. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Walking, standing, sitting, stacking, sorting, lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, using hand tools and measuring devices in various combinations 100% of work time. Must be able to lift a 40 lb. tote box from bottom shelf to 55" shelf 5 times using good mechanics and must be able to lift the 40 lb. tote box from the floor, carry 10 feet and return 5 times using good mechanics. Factory environment that consists of working in an open area. Working around moving machines, running conveyors, and mobile industrial equipment.
