We heard you knock. Primary Purpose: To effectively perform all duties for pulling and cutting door bottoms, components, and other distribution items that require processing and packing. Job Duties: Level 3 Training Must learn processes for cutting door bottoms, including proper start up and shut down procedures of the saw. Must learn and follow proper safety procedures associated with operating all equipment within this area, which include saws, punch press, etc. Must be able to maintain organization and cleanliness of the assembly area. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Able to maintain cut accuracy and good quality. Additional Responsibilities (Level 4) Continue meeting level 2 requirements and be efficient at all level 3 responsibilities. Develop a good knowledge of all components and door bottoms while meeting quality requirements. Must be able to meet production rates and standards. Able to perform routine preventative maintenance on all machines in the area. Must be able to distinguish between and identify the different types of door bottoms. Must have knowledge of all distribution items. Must be able to retain knowledge on distribution items such as sill pans, packing, etc. Must have near perfect attendance. Display knowledge of being able to read and manage a cut list. Additional Responsibilities (Level 5) Continue meeting level 4 requirements and be efficient at all level 4 responsibilities. Demonstrate an ability to work and solve problems with minimal supervision. Must be able to fully comprehend customer orders so that the appropriate materials are pulled, packed, and labeled. Must be fully functional in all areas associated with door bottoms. Have effective communication with production control, as necessary. Efficient and capable of investigating orders, checking labels, etc. Must maintain excellent attendance. Must be able to demonstrate excellent product knowledge of all components and door bottoms. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Entry level position. Does not require previous knowledge, will receive training to achieve desired level. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Approximately 6 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job. Must be capable of reading a tape measure (8th 16th 32nd) while performing simple addition and subtraction. Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing due to accountability of production reporting. INITIATIVE & INGENUITY: Work priorities are determined by updated production board, line leaders or supervisor instructions. The crew member is responsible for quality checking the raw materials and sub-assemblies frequently. Be capable of working with other crew members while following verbal and written instructions. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under specific direction of lead, supervisor, and plant Manager, where goals and objective are established. Coordinate work with other crew members. Report any material handler deficiencies. Advise leads/supervisor of unusual circumstances as needed. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving inventory and will become apparent in normal production runs. CONTACT WITH OTHER: Regular contact with crewmembers, other employees, lead people and staff members where improper handling may affect results. Clear, concise communications skills are important. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve performing repetitive hand motions and capable of standing for the entire shift. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination. Frequent walking, some bending, twisting, stooping, climbing stairs and lifting of up to approximately 35 lbs. are required. Must have good hand eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools. RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: To advance in this position you will be required to become capable of limited troubleshooting of all equipment on the line and a complete understanding of the processes. Damage to this equipment would result in a loss for the company. WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to with stand heat up to 95 degrees. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Endura's Safety Manuel. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses & ear plugs) by each crewmember on the line.
