The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Production Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead our Electronic Products Organization located in El Segundo, CA. This team supports a variety of programs ranging from technology development to initial production and, as such, is seeking a Production Engineering Manager with experience in multiple activities including implementation of design for manufacturing, assembly, and development of cost-reduction redesign opportunities. Find your future with us. Position Responsibilities: Manages, develops, and motivates employees. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Develop and implement Production Engineering processes and deliverables to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved with the product. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Reviews plans' execution, makes appropriate adjustments, and resolves issues. Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan. Forecast resource needs and obtains and manages personnel, facilities, services, equipment, and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements. Coaches, counsels, mentors, and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going developmental feedback. Recognizes contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated team. Develops team, project or operational goals, objectives, and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy. Measures progress, adjusting as needed. Achieves goals for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of team, project, or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers, and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating project status, conducting, and participating in team meetings, providing presentations, and listening to employee concerns and suggestions. Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations. Maintain frequent contact with internal personnel and external representatives concerning operations, scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts. Implements policies, procedures, and documents to ensure consistent execution of processes within team in support of Boeing and regulatory requirements. Enforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc. Provides technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology, and skills for own projects or processes. Ensures workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry, and regulatory requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 3+ years of experience in engineering or leadership experience in a space related field. 3+ years of experience in a role that required project management skills. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineers in a Satellite Assembly factory.
