Production Coordinator

Job Description:

The Print Production Coordinator (PPC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of all company publications across print and digital platforms. This position requires proficiency in graphic design software and a deep understanding of printing processes and standards. Collaborating closely with the Production Manager and Art Director, the PPC oversees print orders, manages graphic requests, and serves as a key liaison with external print vendors, maintaining regular communication and upholding standards of excellence. Additionally, the PPC is responsible for organizing the graphics file server and Dropbox environment to ensure efficient workflow and accessibility.

Skillset / Experience:

Production Coordinator:

Magazine:

Conduct preflight checks and proof layouts before printing, making necessary edits.

Perform technical reviews of magazine ads, both in-house and from clients.

Manage the export, upload, and approval of pages with print vendors.

Generate print orders and prepare all monthly documentation for the printer.

Create and publish digital editions of the magazine.

Ensure the quality of printed pieces and digital editions.

Newsletters:

Proof layouts prior to printing, revising templates and communicating changes to designers.

Prepare for printing, export materials, and obtain approvals from the Editorial department.

Verify the quality of printed pieces and address any file or design program issues.

Ads/Marketing:

Coordinate the timely printing of inserts and marketing collateral.

Proof and manage external ads, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Create and maintain logos for external use.

Additional Production Duties:

Design business cards and stationery items for all departments.

Collaborate with printers to obtain quotes and pricing for print jobs.

Track all graphics and vendor jobs.

Requirements:

Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and employ critical thinking skills during stressful situations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Strong organizational skills are required.

Minimum of three years' experience in a print production environment is necessary.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat, is required.

Familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint is preferred.

Must be willing to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently as needed.
