Duties Planning, scheduling, estimating, expediting, monitoring, and coordinating various munitions activities in the maintenance, renovation, demilitarization, care and preservation, destruction, shipping, receiving, and re-warehousing of stocks. Reviews requirements established by higher headquarters, current depot work schedules, or other pertinent programming documents, classification and stock status reports, typical procedures, and special directives related to required operations. Develops maintenance/demilitarization procedures for ammunition, CDE, APS and container items where no procedures exist. Coordinates with Project Managers, Item Managers and Project Officers to ensure shipping and receiving documentation for items are accurate and complete. Coordinates with operating management, support shops, and other organizations to finalize the planning and scheduling of manpower, material needs, critical work changes, equipment adaptations, and deadlines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. This is a Term position scheduled to last 1 Year and 1 Day. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years, depending upon the needs of management. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. This position may require the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). GS-10 Specialized Experience: To qualify at this grade level, you must possess one year of specialized experience which includes: Scheduling, estimating, observing, and coordinating the transportation of materials such as ammunition; developing timelines/schedules to complete projects; and using inventory management systems to receive, manage, update, track and ship material; develop timelines/schedules to complete projects; and, managing local inventory management systems related to material such as ammunition or other mission related supply items. Organizational Awareness GS-09 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). GS-10 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). GS-11 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. This is a developmental position and may be filled at any grade level. This position provides non-competitive promotion potential to the full performance grade of GS-11 if all requirements are met.
