FUNCTION:

  • Coordinate and expedite all requirements of the manufacturing schedule.
  • Provide information link between team members, project managers and manufacturing personnel regarding the manufacturing processes, schedule changes, and status of work to team personnel and manufacturing leaders.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Expedite flow of materials through shop to assist in achieving the current on-time delivery goals.
  • Ensure balanced loading between departments and work centers to assist with achieving the current utilizations goals.
  • Kit and/or stage materials, fixtures, tooling, and any related hardware in front of machines prior to expected run time to assist with achieving the current productivity/efficiency goals.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure balanced loading between department work centers.
  • Expedite flow of materials through shop.
  • Manage accurate work center dispatch lists.
  • Assist in the preparation of floor travelers by printing routings, drawings, and inspection reports.
  • Manage the process of releasing job routers in the proper quantity and time frame to minimize the risk of job orders being run out of sequence.
  • Verify material certifications and document heat lot tracking as required to meet quality requirements prior to release to manufacturing.
  • Perform a daily plant walk-through, assessing and updating project status tools and reports.
  • Monitor, track, and report progress against production goals established by the program team.
  • Proactively identify and investigate any issues that could hamper/disrupt ongoing production and provide feedback to program team and departmental leaders.
  • Review routers prior to closing out to ensure that documentation is completed according to contract requirements.
  • Kit and/or stage materials, fixtures, tooling, and any related hardware in front of machines prior to expected run time.
  • Identify time over runs and machine overloads to determine, coordinate and manage overtime and/or resource shifting.
  • Attend daily production meetings and communicate area needs, or concerns, to all attendees for prompt resolution.
  • Ensure program folders are updated and signed off prior to the scheduled run time.
  • Determine and follow through if the program folders need updated or filed.
  • Close operations and/or routers as needed.
  • Seek and release routers as necessary for timely start of operations.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a related position in manufacturing environment desired.
  • Experience utilizing ERP or MRP systems is desired.
  • Three or more years of related duties in a manufacturing environment is desired.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/SKILL

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple assignments.
  • Must have fundamental computer skills.
  • Must work collaboratively and cooperatively with coworkers and customer representatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment office setting.
  • Experience in materials / inventory management.
  • Motivation/Drive to see tasks through to completion.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to establish an effective course of action.
  • Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be highly adaptable to changes in instructions and requirements.
