Primary Purpose: Provide technical assistance in the development of daily plans for receiving, sampling, remediating, and incinerating hazardous waste. Essential Functions and Requirements: Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. Coordinate burn planning for the incinerator including appropriate balance of all constituents going through all feed sources to the incinerator. Oversee sampling and testing requirements for wastes received at the facility. This includes wastes that is not ordinarily sampled for compliance. Testing to help determine mix to the incinerator. Evaluate all waste deliveries for compliance with approved waste streams into the facility. Assist in chemical evaluation of process upsets at the facility. Track chemistry going to the incinerator and storage tanks for compliance with facility Risk Assessment and chemical tracking system. Work with approvals on new wastes to be approved on correct processing designation. Work with technicians on chemical safety and training in the facility. Help with the development and revision of SOPs for new processes to be added to the facility. Participate in TRT and Operations production meetings. Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering or chemistry required. Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years industrial / Lab experience required. Good working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA required. Experience with incineration, lab packs, and material handling processes preferred. Knowledge and Abilities: Must possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
