The Assembly / Machine Operator working to strict safety and quality requirements, assembles a range of raw material frame components and set up/operate various production machines in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines. This role is multidimensional performing many operations within the production process with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across multiple areas of production both in production assembly and as a machine operator. This may include some setting up of machinery and basic programming.

• Build frame assemblies using various raw material mouldings.

• Operate various production machines such as mat cutters, wood cutting, foil stamp and printing equipment.

• Operate production line equipment such as joining wood machine, glue guns, staple guns, etc.

• Cut and shape production assembly parts. Able to operate computer and run machine program.

• Perform quality control checks on their work to ensure goods meet internal and customer standards.

• Perform production work cell inventory checks and report shortages or issues.

• Kit and stage frame assemblies ready for production line final assembly

• Report equipment faults to Supervisor and/or maintenance staff.

• Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work area.

• Record daily production totals.

• Qualifications and Experience Levels:

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required if the person has the aptitude to learn quickly.

• Experience working in a production and manufacturing environment is a plus.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)

  • One (1) year of related work experience preferred but not required if the person has the aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Previous experience using hand tools is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with good manual and eye dexterity.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend written and verbal instructions and proficient reading level to understand technical instructions used within the production department.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments and meet expected time completion.
  • Ability to remain achievement focused, engaged, proactive, and positive even in challenging circumstances, own assignments and be fully accountable for their success.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently but proactive to resolve work issues and notify supervisor of support or resources needed.
  • Ability to coordinate with other co-workers as part of a team.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in a production and manufacturing environment is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Estimated shift times: 1st shift: 7 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Available for overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum.
