JOB SUMMARY:

This is a key position to ensure the continued development of successful new products and the improvement of actual products while maintaining high quality standards. Under the supervision of the Director Technical & Product Development, the candidate will work closely with Sales & Marketing to translate their ideas into new products. The candidate will also work closely with Manufacturing to continually identify product improvements, assure quality standards are met and identify new raw materials that would be valuable to the growth of PermaBASE Building Products, LLC. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure the team is aligned to execute key business deliverables with a commitment to quality. The candidate will be responsible for all facilities of the PermaBASE division (FL, TX, IN & QC in Canada). This position is ineligible for hybrid work schedule.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

  • In cooperation with Sales & Marketing, support new products opportunities and/or product improvements. Manage all phases of development to bring the products to market. This includes laboratory, plant, and technical tests, as well as comprehensive physical testing, specifications, project reports and technical review.
  • In cooperation with Management and Manufacturing, support new raw materials opportunities and manage all phases of development. This includes laboratory, plant, and technical tests, as well as comprehensive physical testing, specifications, project reports and technical review.
  • Supervise witnessed test programs (UL, ULC, FM ) and edit the reports for technical accuracy.
  • Responsible for developing and managing quality management system, processes, and procedures to assure product quality in all 4 plants.
  • Schedule and perform quality internal audits at all manufacturing plants, reports on non-conformity and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage quality assurance metrics for performance improvement of all teams.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to improve recipe, develop new formulations, react to upset in supply chain, optimize quality and productivity metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum BS or equivalent education in a science discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10 years' experience in product development/improvement is preferred
  • 10 years' experience in quality management is preferred
  • Knowledge of Portland cement chemistry, testing and hydration dynamics and familiarity with alternate cementitious systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated superior creativity, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, including formal presentation skills.
  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
  • Team player with the leadership skills necessary to focus on objectives and complete assignments on time.
  • Willingness to travel as much as 40% of the time and must be able to travel to Canada.
