Job Summary: Core responsibilities of this position include:

The Exam Lab Proctor role involves administering tests at the LCCC Exam Lab and Pearson Testing Center, coordinating test delivery across various sites, and ensuring compliance with test security and application procedures. This position entails extensive interaction with students, faculty, and staff at LCCC and other institutions, along with national certification testers and services. The Proctor is tasked with upholding a professional and secure testing environment, maintaining academic integrity, and ensuring fair and consistent test administration.

This position is specifically to cover evenings and weekend shifts.

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need .

Compensation: $13.33/hr.

Essential Functions: - this position is Non-Exempt, i.e., is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned).
•   Ensure seamless administration of computer-based and paper-based academic exams, including accommodated, distance learning, professional certification, and makeup testing for both LCCC and external institutions by leveraging proficient testing procedures.
•   Deliver testing services in a secure environment, ensuring integrity by meticulously documenting all tests administered through the Exam Lab, safeguarding the confidentiality and security of testing materials and records, vigilantly monitoring testers to prevent and promptly address any instances of academic dishonesty, cheating, or violations of testing procedures in accordance with relevant policies.
•   Ensure up-to-date knowledge of policy and procedure changes by maintaining communication with testing vendors and programs, adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols for exam handling, monitoring, incident reporting, and delivery as outlined by the Director of the Learning Commons and relevant testing certification agencies.
•   Ensure a welcoming, supportive, and professional testing environment for candidates by promptly addressing inquiries via in-person, email, and telephone, and proactively addressing candidate questions and issues during tests while maintaining multitasking capabilities.
•   Ensure clear communication of Exam Lab regulations to candidates and instructors, promptly managing and reporting instances of academic dishonesty, technical issues, and student/faculty concerns to relevant testing authorities, instructors, and the Director of the Learning Commons, and collaborating closely with the Office of Disability Support Services to guarantee fulfillment of appropriate testing accommodations.
•   Support the operations of the Exam Lab by entering testing scores, assisting in scheduling processes, ensuring the proper delivery of exams and materials to instructors and testing agencies, preparing regular reports on Exam Lab usage, training part-time proctors, maintaining accurate accounting records, maintaining inventory, assist in marketing efforts, and collaborate on both short- and long-term.
•   Ensure ongoing certification as a test administrator within relevant agencies and testing programs, while actively pursuing professional development opportunities such as college coursework, research, and engagement in local, regional, or national organizations focusing on areas like testing, student success, and support services for students with disabilities. Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need .

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•   Advanced working knowledge and ability with personal computing applications - specifically Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe products (e.g., Reader, Professional)
•   Skills and abilities to perform as an organized, self-starter, and able to handle expeditiously, accurately, and confidentially the rapid receipt of communications from all sources-written, email, voice mail, one-on-one with attention to detail; able to act on own initiative while exercising reasonable judgment
•   Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people, in one-to-one and small group settings - either face-to-face, by telephone, or by other electronic means - ability to communicate in an informative manner, effectively listen, and be able to handle escalating situations with concern and confidence
•   Ability to support time-based requests; able to function effectively in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment with deadlines, frequent interruptions, and some interpersonal pressure
•   Ability to respond to common inquiries from college faculty and staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, regional business community, and others as may be necessary
•   Knowledge of basic office equipment including (but not limited to) personal computer and associated peripherals, multi-line telephone, voice recorders, and other electronic devices
•   Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
•   Ability to independently perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects; capable of being pro-active and taking initiative when appropriate
•   Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail in all areas of responsibility
•   Ability to effectively and professionally execute the essential functions of this position with proven capabilities in establishing appropriate professional rapport, communicating with courtesy and tact, accurately determine other's needs, collecting necessary information, and follow-through when requested
•   Ability to read and interpret instructions in oral, written, or diagrammatical form (e.g., a flow chart of a process) and consider possible applications of literature and legal documents.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to:

•   Frequently move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities while performing the essential duties of this position
•   Engage in multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
•   Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions
•   Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
•   The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
•   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds
•   Ability to effectively listen and perceive the nature of sounds and spoken words at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
