Overview:
The Process Design Engineer will coordinate the development and design of process units for separation, purification, transformation, transportation, and sale/disposition of hydrocarbons. Focuses on the interaction of fluids with equipment in meeting required compositional specifications, physical conditions, and flow rates.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • This position will successfully develop and design capital/non-capital projects up to $500K at the Geismar Chevron-REG Biorefinery.
  • Specific responsibilities include development of project justification, scope, schedule, budget, and detailed design.
  • Support equipment procurement.
  • Support contract development and contractor management.
  • Support project review meetings including process design reviews, 3D model reviews, and HAZOP safety reviews.
  • Partner closely with field Operations and process engineering team to identify gaps between current performance & optimal.
  • This position is expected to actively partner & provide consulting support to engineering partners, other facilities engineering disciplines & key stakeholders (Ops, Maint, Technical SMEs).

Required Qualifications:
  • 4-year bachelor's degree - Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related degree.
  • 1 - 4 yrs. project management in a process-related industry, preferably in renewable diesel, petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in software such as PI and Excel

  • Optimizing facilities through process engineering principles
  • Project management
  • Process simulation
  • Pressure relief/relief device sizing and design
