Description:
Our client has an immediate need for a Process Control Engineer II, who will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing process control hardware and software solutions in a heavy industrial environment
Requirements:
- 3+ years of work experience in Process Control, Electrical, or similar environments providing hardware and software support with strong electrical and programming knowledge
- Knowledgeable in industrial plant process control systems preferably with some of the following types of control solutions: OpenVMS, Fortran
- System Administration knowledge of VMS systems and hardware
- Ability to provide leadership to junior control engineers in support of complex control systems
- Ability to provide good oral and written communication interfaces with various business organizations
- Experience in a Basic Oxygen Process or Caster facility is a plus
- Capable of analyzing short- and long-term hardware, software, equipment, and instrumentation requirements and providing appropriate and cost-effective technical solutions is a plus
- Ability to create detailed design documents and/or schematics is a plus
- Ability to support and interact with internal customers and business partners in understanding, prioritizing, and implementing work requests in multiple mining processes
Responsibilities:
- Supporting production hardware and software applications, SCADA systems, Graphical HMI applications and LAN communications
- Optimizing and improving industrial plant process control solutions to meet business requirements
- Translating business requirements into industrial application solution
- Collaborating with personnel throughout the organization both as an individual and in a team environment
- Analyzing short and long term hardware, software, equipment, and instrumentation requirements and providing appropriate and cost-effective technical solutions
- Providing oral and written communication interfaces with departmental management, operations management, operating crews, control system support personnel, system support personnel and others
- Providing process control support for a 24x7 industrial environment
