Job Description: This incumbent demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The incumbent participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team. This position will work , Monday through Friday. Weekends and Holidays off. This position will work at our Supply Chain Center in Midvale. UT. This position will work as a Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician. This position is eligible for a FT sign on bonus of $1,000. Scope This position supports Pharmacy Services in Community-Based Care and Specialty-Based Care locations. Job Essentials Provides extraordinary experiences to support patients, pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals in areas of responsibility. Communicates effectively with all caregivers and stakeholders regarding responsibilities and identified concerns. Is competent and effective in technical responsibilities assigned and seeks appropriate training and peer feedback on routine responsibilities. Understands and is compliant to all state and federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines related to their specific area of practice. Participates and supports financial responsibilities of the department, facility, and Intermountain Healthcare. Provides delivery of medications, information, and services in a professional, timely manner and is actively engaged in department and team goals, activities, and projects. Attains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s) and clearly understands when a pharmacist is required to verify tasks and activities. Participates in quality improvement activities and constantly seeks a team approach to developing and achieving best practices and processes. Serves as a preceptor and mentor for other technicians to help them achieve competency and experience. Provides expertise and leadership in assigned area of practice. Delivers detail-oriented, consistent, and flexible care. Remote/work from home position. May have to occasionally come to office for trainings, meetings. This position may have clinic visits (1-2 per year). Applicants for this position must live in Utah. Minimum Qualifications Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice. Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents. Preferred Qualifications Experience with medication prior authorizations, Experience with copay assistance grants Patient Assistance Programs experience Advanced computer skills. Three years of pharmacy technician experience in the area of practice. Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements Carrying, hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing.
