Position Description:

Builds data warehouses and cloud storage solutions using Oracle, PL/SQL, Snowflake, and S3. Develops software applications and builds a Common Risk Platform in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environment. Designs and delivers solutions using Python, Pandas, and NumPy. Develops and supports solutions including fund holdings, benchmarks, risk models, and security reference, performance, and market data, using alpha, risk, attribution, and common data. Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers and developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing tools and performing investment analysis in an Asset-management or Fixed income investment domain.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing tools and performing investment analysis in an Asset-management or Fixed income investment domain.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise ( DE ) performing full lifecycle analysis of new DataGx applications and providing Data As a Services (DaaS) to clients, using ESP, Snowflake, Informatica, Oracle PL/SQL and Erwin; creating complex ETL data transformations using Informatica PowerCenter; designing, developing, and tuning in-house built database applications, using SQL Developer, TOAD, DB Profiler, and SQL Monitor; creating and maintaining batch jobs using Autosys and Control-M scheduler; designing conceptual, logical, and physical data-models, using Enterprise Structured Platform (ESP), Erwin and MS Visio.

DE designing and implementing highly scalable business reporting tools using Tableau, VB Script, and OBIEE reports; performing performance tuning of SQL queries, using XPLAN analysis, DB Profiler, and SQL; performing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) by deploying pipelines (Jenkins), code versioning (using ESP and PVCS Version Manager), testing (UT-PLSQL); and creating executable programs using AWS Lambda and S3.

DE calculating daily and monthly times-series, asset, equal, and log-weighted performance figures of portfolios and blends, using SQL; performing holdings calculations based on pending and executed trades to assist Portfolio Analysts in obtaining real-time cash positions.

DE operating end-to-end data management solutions for data quality, governance, security, and aggregation of entire financial data universe, using fixed-income and equity investment vehicles, bonds, securities, hedge and mutual funds, and derivatives; and tracking and managing portfolio risks, and determining appropriate investment opportunities using benchmark data, volatility, P&L ratios, and risk attribution analysis.
