Job Description: UC Title: ACCESS REPR PRN Position Number: Reports to: Ambulatory Care Patient Supv 2 Working Title: Principal Access Rep Cost Center: Cancer Center - Call Center (428767) Bargaining Unit: AFSCME FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 3/06/2024 Job Code: 009099 Hours: 40 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 1 Position Summary: The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients needing to be contacted in order to effectively schedule specialty referral appointments or to make appointment modifications as a result of operational changes. Provides outbound call center services within the Cancerl Center, applying expert understanding of each clinic's unique scheduling requirements. Takes inbound calls from patients calling to obtain medical services as necessary. Serves as a preceptor for new staff. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $25.61 Midpoint $28.75 Maximum $31.89 Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.) Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics Experience with MS Excel Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Minimum 6 months experience working at UCI Medical Center's Call Center Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese Prior EPIC experience Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
