Develops, coordinates, recommends and reviews prevention and intervention plans and policies to enhance support and programming that strengthens family life, aids in anticipating and understanding physical and emotional demands associated with Marine Corps life, and prepares and sustains capabilities of commanders, Marines and Marine spouses for mission readiness. Serves as Program Specialist in the functional area to independently review and recommend approval or disapproval of program plans and materials; analyze and develop proposals or provisions in terms of impact on program resources requirements; develop new and revised operating procedures and standards to incorporate provisions that affect operating activities and requirements; conduct review of the administration and operation of the program, and provide advice. Help Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Education, Community Health, Public Health, Counseling, Behavioral Science AND three years of experience in a children's services community organization (with a focus in child abuse or domestic abuse). Ability to develop and implement prevention and intervention plans and policies that support prevention of family problems (including family violence) that negatively impact parenting, anger and stress management and issues of importance for couples, and detract from mission readiness. Skill to: develop, coordinate, recommend and review prevention and intervention plans and policies to enhance support and programming that strengthens family life, aids in anticipating and understanding physical and emotional demands associated with military life, and prepares and sustains capabilities of commanders, Active Duty service members and military spouses for mission readiness. Skill to review and recommend approval or disapproval of program plans and materials; analyze and develop proposals or provisions in terms of impact on program resource requirements; develop new and revised operating procedures and standards to incorporate provisions that affect operating activities and requirements; conduct reviews of the administration and operation of the program and provide advice. Skill in performing analysis and evaluation of programming and in formulating, administering and monitoring an operating and capital budget for a program area. Due to the nature of work in this position, the incumbent may serve in an "on call" duty status outside of normal work hours that includes: remaining in a reasonable call back radius, carrying a cell phone or pager, or regularly checking email to respond to emergencies; remaining in a state of readiness to perform work with limitations on pursuing outside leisure activities, and/or reporting to a designated post of duty to be ready to or to perform work.
