JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Prevention Specialist

JOB TITLE: Prevention Specialist

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide substance misuse prevention curriculum and programs to youth and parents utilizing education, service or experiential learning, and community-based strategies; includes interactions with various agency and school personnel, families, and the general public. Community awareness and advocacy involvement with media outlets and other information networks. Other duties include creating, preparing, and organizing program reports, notes, and files.

Full and part-time positions available, positions require a flexible schedule, may involve limited weekend or evening work.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in human services, education, public health or related field preferred; experience in Substance Misuse Prevention, Health Education, Public Health or Public Policy preferred. Certification in Substance Misuse Prevention or Health Education a plus. Computer experience and driving a must, some travel to surrounding counties required.

Experience working with marginalized or underserved communities preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Salary Range: Compensation is $45,000 USD per year.
