Preschool Aide - Joshua Tree Salary $20.00 Hourly Location Joshua Tree, CA Job Type Temporary or Extra-Help Job Number 24-50223JT-01 Department Special Districts Opening Date 03/23/2024 Closing Date 5/24/2024 5:00 PM Pacific Description Benefits Questions The Job THIS IS A SPECIAL DISTRICTS DEPARTMENT POSITION ONLY Special Districts Joshua Tree and Recreation is recruiting for a Preschool Aidewho will be responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of daily operations of a preschool. Duties include ensuring the safety and well-being of children, assisting with learning experience, interacting with parents, and assuming the duties of the lead teacher as needed to cover absences. This position will work in Joshua Tree approximately 1.5 hours/75 miles from Downtown San Bernardino. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Availability: Must be available to work in Joshua Tree, California. Extra-Help Position:Extra-help unclassified, non-regular positions classified as Public Service Employees (PSE). PSEs serve at the discretion of the appointing authority and do not attain regular status. Successful candidates should be considered at-will throughout their employment. Certificate:Must successfully complete Pediatric First Aid, CPR and annual Mandate Reporter training within six (6) months of hire. Schedule:This position typically works 16 to 29 hours per week. Child Care facilities are open from 7:30am - 12:00pm (noon). Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment. Minimum Requirements Candidates must meet BOTH the Experience and Education requirements. EXPERIENCE:Six (6) months of full-time equivalent experience at a childcare center, preschool, school, or recreation setting where the main function of the job was interaction and instructions of children. EDUCATION:Six (6) semester (or 9 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, physical education, recreation, human services, social work, or other related field of study. Copy of transcripts (official or unofficial) or list of coursework must be included. Desired Qualifications Applicants with a certification in early childhood education, current Pediatric First Aide, and/or CPR certificates are highly desirable.
