About this Position:


Responsible for proficiently executing development projects to generate functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.


Responsibilities include:


Key Accountabilities


Develop challenging performance targets to satisfy vehicle concept and competitiveness. Perform validations of specification targets, requirements, components, and complete vehicles through application of strong engineering principles, simulations, and physical testing with limited supervision. Setup data acquisition equipment. Test vehicles in various real-world conditions. Analyse measurement data and perform subjective feeling evaluation. Calibrate transmission control system to meet performance targets. Develop new control software as needed. Develop new test methods and data acquisition/analysis methods for efficiency improvement. Create and maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required. Support, coach and lead other team members in all of the above activity. Break down technical challenges and delegate work to others appropriately.

Create and manage schedule of individual and team work to ensure deadlines are achieved, balance resource needs, communicate concerns with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with limited supervision. Consistently communicate project status real time. Hold function team weekly meetings, participate in project meetings, discussions, and development events. Delegate work appropriately.

Generate advanced ideas that contribute to the evolution of new technologies. Reinforce maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications without supervision.


Prioritize, lead and address market quality themes. Utilize problem-solving methods to investigate root causes. Develop/advance and implement C/M specs as necessary with limited supervision.


Who we are seeking:


Required Experience:



• 8 years previous engineering experience, preferably in Power Sports industry



Required Education:



• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer


Other job specific skills:



• Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices required to complete difficult technical problems and projects

• Competent in FTA, FMEA

• Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization

• Competent data acquisition and laboratory skills

• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral

• Competent understanding of development project cycles, milestones

• Competent time management skills

• MUST MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF CONFIDENTIALITY


Additional Position Factors:


• Travel: Up to 10% may be required. Amount varies based on project demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.

• Physical: Primarily at a desk, some work in a lab and/or test vehicle, frequent keyboarding. Frequent kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting, bending, pushing and lifting. Some physical effort required (pushing 50+ pounds; lifting 25-50 pounds).

• Hazards: Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. Exposure to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.

• Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.

• Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety DEPARTMENT, and COMPANY policies, Procedures, AND rules.
