Duties As a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC - TITLE 32, WG-5378-10, you will interpret manufacturer drawings, specifications, operating instructions, and test procedures, to troubleshoot, calibrate, align and repair powered support equipment and components. Use testers, such as analyzers, digital meters, oscilloscopes and other measuring devices to determine repair requirements. Perform circuit analyses and apply electronic principles in order to fault-isolate and repair digital devices contained powered support equipment. Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing, repair, and adjustments on complex rotary diesel engines. Determine work sequences, specifications, and special procedures to be used to fault-isolate and make repairs. Train maintenance personnel in operations, test procedures, and troubleshooting requirements of powered support equipment. Perform maintenance on powered support equipment and non-powered AGE. Diagnose gas turbine malfunctions and make appropriate repairs. Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify and operate aerospace ground equipment. Perform required TCTOs and other modifications on powered support equipment. Perform corrosion control. Perform inspections, calibration and repair on equipment. Perform maintenance data collection and other required forms. Maintain Technical Orders, Technical Order Files, commercial technical publications and other directives pertinent to the section. Submit Technical Order Improvement Reports, Material Deficiency Reports and suggestions. Ensure all waste products are properly disposed of and effective waste minimization processes are used. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluation such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Participate and assist in conducting the necessary safety program for the Aerospace Ground Equipment activity. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work. Experience using equipment and hand tools to troubleshoot, test and repair equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
