Duties Operate the customer service window for package delivery. Respond to customer inquiries concerning undeliverable, forwarded, or returned to sender mail. Sell postage and money orders to customers. Process official mail to include documenting, transferring, and safeguarding. Process incoming and outgoing mail to include delivery, sorting, weighing, and metering mail. Drive step side van or similar type vehicle incidental to postal operations duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment One year trial/probationary period may be required. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Visit This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check. This position requires completion of the Postal Service Center (PSC) training module within 6 months of being employed. You will not be allowed annual leave during the period of 1 November and 15 January each year, except in emergency situations. You may be required to work shifts, weekend, holidays, and overtime, as needed. You must be able to obtain and maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license. This position requires a valid, state-issued drivers license, pass the USAREUR-AF Drivers Test, have the ability to operate a motor vehicle, and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the USAG Poland area of responsibility. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. You will be required to regularly lift items up to 70 lbs. Incumbent must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language fluently. Incumbent will not be authorized to purchase money orders or stamp products nor use the PSC to mail or receive articles unless entitled to logistic support. Relocation/Recruitment incentive or service credit for non-Federal work experience (advanced leave accrual) may be authorized. Separate Maintenance Allowance (SMA) may be authorized. The USAG Poland is the newest garrison within the Department of Army. Because of this, some services typically found on an Army facility may not currently be available, including government housing, medical, AAFES, and Commissary facilities. When receiving medical or dental care in the overseas area, employees generally must pay for service up front and submit claims to their insurance companies for reimbursements. Access to medical and dental care in Poland is primarily through the use of local Polish medical and dental facilities on a fee basis with the possibility of reimbursement based on an individual's health insurance plan. Accessing medical care on the military installation is extremely limited. At an exchange rate of approximately 4:1, Polish Zloty (PLN) to US Dollar (USD), the cost of living in Poland is very reasonable.
