Position Details Req ID: req17319 Position Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow Position Type: Faculty Position Number: AF9835 and New OSU Campus: Stillwater Department: VETERINARY PATHOBIOLOGY Location Address: Stillwater, Oklahoma United States Hiring Supervisor: Hiring Range: (Contingent upon available funding): 38,000.00 - 45,000.00, Salary Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Two positions are available immediately for highly motivated postdoctoral scientists to conduct research focused on neurotropic herpesviruses, bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). These individuals will conduct research designed to understand the mechanisms by which neurotropic herpesviruses establish, maintain, and reactivate from latency. Studies focused on understanding the mechanism by which a viral protein expressed during latency regulates the latency-reactivation cycle will be conducted. Experience in molecular biology procedures (RT-PCR), cell culture techniques, reporter assay systems, RNA-Seq, chromatin immunoprecipitation assays, and statistical analyses of data are important. Previous experience working with virus infection processes and construction of recombinant viruses is also desirable but not required.
