Post Doc Fellow (Temporary, Full-Time) - Department of Molecular Biology, Rowan-Virtua School of Translational Sciences (Stratford, NJ) A temporary, full-time NIH funded 2-year postdoctoral position is immediately available to study the role of cyclin C in TDP-43 mediated proteinopathies, including Alzheimer's, ALS, and Parkinson's. The approach will use mammalian models of TDP-43 pathobiology, analyzed in a variety of cell types, including motor-neuron cell lines and iPS cells. LOCATION: The successful applicant will join a vibrant team led by Dr. Katrina Cooper in the Department of Molecular Biology, Rowan-Virtua School of Translational Sciences in Stratford, NJ. This graduate campus of Rowan University houses the Ph. D. and MS programs in Molecular, Cell, and Neurobiology, as well as DO and graduate-level nursing programs. DUTIES: The applicant is expected to conduct independent research, on TDP-43 pathobiology, reporting to Dr. Cooper. This will include writing research and review articles. Other duties may be assigned. Furthermore, the applicant is expected to train and supervise graduate students, undergraduate students, and other research staff. QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree in Molecular, Cell or Neurobiology or a closely related field. A strong background in genetics is desirable. Additional experience in fluorescence microscopy or mammalian cell culture would be beneficial. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
