How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary) Dive into an extraordinary opportunity as a Pool Manager at the Greater Austin YMCA, where you will become a catalyst for transformation in the lives of our members. Guided by the Aquatics Director, you will lead a dynamic team and oversee every aspect of our aquatic department, aligning our mission and purpose to create an unforgettable experience for all. Your passion for excellence will drive you to manage the front desk of the East Metropolitan Park Pool in Manor Texas as well as supervise lifeguards. This position is seasonal, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend of 2024. You will be responsible for all aspects of the operations at this pool. The member relations aspect of this position requires that relationship building be always a top priority, attending to the needs and requests of members, program participants, volunteers, staff, and all people associated with the YMCA in a courteous and friendly manner. How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions) Relationship Assist in providing high-quality member and guest experience at East Metropolitan Pool. Support in communication towards members for programs and operations. Assist in addressing complaints and resolving problems. Promotes and incorporates the YMCA three areas of focus, and character development model into all aspects of the aquatic experience. Program Management/Operations Compile pool visit reports and statistics. Collect cash and electronic payments from members and guests Assist with lifeguard/swim instructor scheduling, help secure substitutes, assist with and conduct staff orientations, and assist with staff communications. Monitor lifeguard procedures, training, and policies. Know and fulfill all outlined responsibilities of swim instructor or lifeguard as needed. Assist with pool maintenance, determined by Aquatics Director. Leadership Lead and manage lifeguards and front desk area of pool Attend and assist with the planning and execution of required meetings, in-services and/or trainings. Assist with ongoing supervision and training of aquatics staff. Assist with the hiring and counseling of staff. Assume special projects and administrative duties as requested by the Aquatics Director and Executive Director. Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Aquatics Director. Complete other duties as assigned. How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions) Relevant experience, certifications, and practical skills in aquatic programming and management and high school diploma or equivalent Current BLS (CPR-PRO), First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, Lifeguard, and/or Swim Instructor certifications. YLGI, YSLIT preferred. Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training provided by the YMCA must be completed before day one.: Current BLS (CPR-PRO), First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, Lifeguard, and Swim Instructor certifications. YMCA certifications preferred. YLGI, YSLIT preferred. Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention training provided by the YMCA must be completed before day one. Knowledge of member relations system and/or database. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook. You are an expert at developing and delivering multi-mode communications with a wide variety of types of audiences that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different constituents. You are an expert at planning your day and not letting distractions come in between meeting your goals. You know how to maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. You can have an impact on the behavior, attitudes, and choices of others. You are a force for change who is open to new insights, accepts challenges and leads with positive energy. You build close and good-natured relationships with people from all walks of life. You leverage people's differences as strengths.
