Casual Minimum of 2, 12 hour shifts per month 7PM-7AM. What you will do: Administers tests relating to sleep disorders to outpatients. Responsible for administering PAP titrations. Implements and abides by Higher Standard of Caring. Post training required. Provide a higher standard of caring. Recommend modifications to prescribed therapy, as appropriate. Interpreting respiratory variables affected by initiation of positive airway pressure support. Monitor normative ranges for such variables as those measured during the monitoring of arterial blood gas, end-tidal CO2, oxygen saturation, respiratory movement, and airflow. Evaluate a patient's response to therapy. Score polysomnographic recordings and understand interpretive methods. Recognize the patterns of polysomnographic variables as they are monitored and recorded enabling the practitioner to differentiate among technical difficulties and occult pathophysiology during Polysomnography. What you need: Successful completion of an AMA approved academic program for respiratory care or completion of neuro diagnostics program. Current CPR certification. Required AND Registered Polysomnography Technologist Required OR Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) Required OR Registered Respiratory Therapist Respiratory Care Practitioners (CRTT/RRT) Required OR Registered Nurse (RN) Required An Ideal Candidate: Completion of coursework in Polysomnography preferred. 1-year prior experience in administering and scoring polysomnography preferred. Ability to score polysomnographic recordings and understand interpretive methods. Documented ability to recognize the patterns of polysomnographic variables. Proficiency in interpreting respiratory variables. Knowledge of normative ranges of arterial blood gas, end-tidal CO2, oxygen saturation, respiratory movement, and airflow. Capability to initiate and titrate supportive therapy for sleep-related respiratory disorders. An ability to evaluate a patient's response to therapy. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
