Duties Respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints, and other calls for service. Provide sworn testimony based on the investigative process, evidence gathered, witness' statements in criminal and traffic courts. Question, detains, and issues traffic citations as required. Perform protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts. Verify personnel credentials, prints visitor passes and/or badges, creates, and edits cardholder records and runs card and/or pass access reports. Perform electronic Physical Access Control Systems (ePACS) registrar operations to enroll personnel into the system for the vetting and printing of visitor passes/badges. Set up and maintains visitor control roster and badges accountability log, which is subject to quarterly and annual reviews and inventories. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license. Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime. Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or in judicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals. This position is designated as Key. The position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the mission. This position requires a medical examination. Qualifications This position is in the Technician/Administrative Support Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by physical security; force protection functions; apprehending violators; access control; traffic law enforcement; participating in searches; conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; issuance of citations; subduing disorderly persons; and maintaining order for protecting life and property. Education TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy; or successfully graduate within 12 months of hire date; or is a current employee and is considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG). Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes. These include, but not limited to: weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements. Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56: Successfully pass a preemployment and recurring medical evaluation. Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter. PAT consist of19 pushups in 2 minutes and a 1.5 mile run in 17 minutes and 30 seconds (17:30). Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP). Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony in accordance with Section639 of P.L. 106-554 effective January 20, 2001. This position is designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Due to the essential nature of this position, the incumbent cannot be a Ready Reservist, National Guardsman, or Military Retiree with recall obligations.
