Duties Receive telephone and in person request for law enforcement support. Search, process and maintain accountability of all prisoners and their property. Perform a variety of traffic control duties. Review all police reports and supporting documentation for accuracy. Obtain verbal and written statements. Provide law enforcement services within military housing areas, recreation areas, and commercial establishments. Ensure the dispatching of police personnel. Provide on the job training to new employees. Provide inventory of law enforcement equipment prior to assuming shift and account for all property. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. If selected, the agency will provide information regarding what documentation is needed and how to request any legally required exceptions from this requirement. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter. This position is subject to compliance with the Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs, Drug Testing Position. This position has been designated "Mission Essential. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position will require the incumbent to pass the primary physical fitness/agility test (PAT) within 30 days of employment and an annual one thereafter. This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and /or protective clothing and equipment. This position requires certification in the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56. This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training. This position requires the incumbent to be proficient in the use of assigned firearms. This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the USAMPS Civilian Police Academy. This position requires the incumbent to operate an Emergency Vehicle when patrolling and must successfully complete the Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course. Incumbent must be able to operate a personal computer in fulfilling the reporting requirements of the position.
